*Earlier this week, it was reported that Jay-Z would no longer use the term “bitch” in his lyrics after the birth of his daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.
The claim was inferred from a poem supposedly written by Jay a few days after “Glory” entered the charts, making his daughter the youngest person ever to be credited on a Hot 100 entry. A line in the poem stated, “Before I got in the game, made a change, and got rich/I didn’t think hard about using the word bitch/I rapped, I flipped it, I sold it, I lived it/Now with my daughter in this world I curse those that give it.”
Multiple outlets are now reporting that Jay-Z’s publicist has denied the claim that Hov dropped the b-word “from his lyrics. TMZ’s Harvey Levin tweeted yesterday, “We just spoke with Jay Z’s rep. The story that he won’t use the word b***hes anymore since having the baby is B.S. He never said that.”
This was confirmed by a recent New York Daily News interview with Jay in which he said, “That poem and story are fake.”
Jay-Z spoke to the paper during last night’s star-studded reopening of his 40/40 Club in New York. [See pic above.]
