50 Cent Makes Rap History with 8 Times Platinum Album

*Rapper 50 Cent is still making records, so to speak, with his debut solo album release “Get Rich or Die Tryin’.” As of last week, the album has hit 8 times platinum since its release Feb. 2003.

He’s also a part of another history making feat. “GRODT” also became the fourth best-selling rap album right under Eminem’s ‘The Marshall Mathers LP” with 10,341,000 sales and “The Eminem Show” at 9,928,000 sales. Nelly’s “Country Grammar” is also up there on the list of all time favorites with 8,489,000 sales.

By the end of its release year, 50’s album had exploded to 6 times platinum. Now that he’s going on to his fifth studio album, “Black Magic,” he’s making a huge impact on the Hip Hop industry.
