WHY DO WHITE WOMEN LIKE BLACK MEN?

BY MARTIN MATHEWS

In our modern society, it's not just white women who are considered beautiful. Halle Berry is considered one of the most beautiful people around. Queen Latifah, Rhianna, and a lot of other women of color are spokespeople for major cosmetics companies. Robert DeNiro, one of our leading actors has a black wife. So does Roger Ebert, the famous movie critic. Brett Ratner, director of the Rush Hour movies and an X-Man movie dated Serena Williams. Men everywhere, including black men, have always found black women to be beautiful.

With that being said, let's look at some of the differences between some black and some white women. Most black women believe that a man should pay for the date. Most white women believe that the woman should chip in. There is a study that proves this. This is important because most men would welcome the woman offering to at least chip in. It shows her independence and willingness to contribute. I've been on a lot of dates, but only two black women have offered to pay for something. Every white woman I've had a date with has. The point isn't who pays, it's about showing that she can and having the courtesy to offer it. It's widely believed that white women are more promiscuous and unapologetic about their sex life. Take the show, Sex and the City. If it was an all black cast, the show could've never been believable. I think sex plays a bigger role in interracial dating than most people admit. If I take a girl home from the club, it's more likely that she's going to be white. Do I judge her badly? No. I'm the guy taking her home, why would I judge her? I think sex is a bigger deal to black women and so a lot of black men dismiss them and go after white women. In doing so, perhaps we find ourselves liking the person they are and beginning a relationship.

Attraction is not a choice. It's also said that opposites attract. I'm was born in West Africa. I spent part of my youth in between Africa and the States. When I was 14, living in Africa, I had my first white girlfriend. I didn't like her because she was white, I liked the person she was. When it comes to attraction, race is the furthest thing from my mind. It's not deep rooted in my dislike for myself, I like who I like. Plain and simple.
