R. Kelly Released from the Hospital Following Tonsil Surgery

*A rep for R. Kelly says the R&B star is out of the hospital following throat surgery earlier this week.

Spokesman Allan Mayer said today that the 44-year-old singer left Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago and is recuperating at home.

Mayer says it still isn’t clear when the Chicago-native might be well enough to resume performing.

The Grammy-winning singer had complained of throat pain and was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday. The same day, surgeons drained an abscess on one of his tonsils.

As previously reported, Kelly tweeted Wednesday: “I’d like to thank everybody for their love, concern and support. I WILL BE BACK!”
