MASE BUMRUSHES DIDDY IN PURSUIT OF FREEDOM: But, did he get what he really wanted? (October 21, 2009)

*Here's an item that's got folks who scan the hip hop world scratching their heads. It's about Puffy/Diddy/Sean Combs and Mase.

*It seems that Mase, now a minister in Atlanta, even though he hasn't recorded for Comb's Bad Boy label in years, kinda bumrushed a surprised Diddy at local Atl radio station V103. In the process, he supposedly got the music mogul to sign his release papers, something he hadn't been able to do in the years since he walked away from Puffy's label.

Interestingly the whole incident was captured on video and you can see it below. It's quite remarkable to see how Mase, who a lot of folks think is a little "slow," was able to pull off a major move without Diddy going "off," shall we say.

But wait a minute! Now comes word from blogger, Miss Info that Combs just may not have been bamboozled and intimidated like some may have thought:

Ok, so my insider tells me ... that signature wasn’t on a contract release form…it was basically an appearance release form. Basically, Diddy is allowing Mase to appear on songs with other artists. He is not freeing Mase from his contractual obligations to Bad Boy.

But this is a start, because Mase already has a big feature in the works, as well as a potential home at Interscope ... which would work out well in terms of those old contractual obligations because Diddy is already over at Interscope as well.
