Video: Wendy Grills Ochocinco on Show’s Lack of Black Girls
The original pool of 85 women on VH1's "Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch"
*Chad Ochocinco admitted that he prefers white and Latino women over sisters when pressed about it this week on “The Wendy Williams Show.”
The NFL receiver was there to promote his new VH1 series “The Ultimate Catch,” which features a gaggle of women competing to become his “true love.” Wendy brought up the fact that the 17 women he chose to compete from a pool of 85 hopefuls were all white or Latino — except for four. Three of the four black girls were the last to be chosen by Ochocinco, a move that Wendy said “offended” her.
“You kinda clumped them together and it almost looked like a throwaway. I was insulted and offended,” she told the athlete.
But Ochocinco was unapologetic. “It’s a funny issue for people to even question what I like,” he said. “But based off of what you see, there’s nothing I can do about that. For one, I have a preference, right? Everybody has a preference.”
“I’m here to entertain yall, but I’m gonna appease me and what I like,” he added. [Listen to his entire answer below.]
Before moving on, Wendy pointed out that all three of Ochocinco’s babymamas are black.
