In light of today’s QOTD, this story caught our attention: there’s a Kickstarter for an item called SensorWake, an alarm clock that will wake you up to smells rather than sounds. Those smells include croissants, bacon, the ocean and money.

“We believe that everyone should wake up happy, relaxed and peaceful, empowered for adventures to come. Happiness lies in the little things, like a great morning, a smell we like, a memory it recalls, a smile it evokes…” says the campaign page.

SensorWake, which has gotten attention from Google at the company’s 2014 Science Fair, was invented by the now 18-year-old engineering student Guillaume Rolland (he’s in France). There are 19 days left to the Kickstarter and they’ve already far exceeded the $54,751 goal with $133,166.
