Rapsody and Erykah Badu have won Best Melodic Rap Performance, for “3:AM,” at the 2025 Grammys, earning Rapsody her first-ever Grammy and Badu her first in two decades. They picked up the trophy ahead of Beyoncé, Linda Martell, and Shaboozey (“Spaghettii”), Future, Metro Boomin, and the Weeknd (“We Still Don’t Trust You”), Jordan Adetunji (the “Kehlani” remix featuring Kehlani herself), and Latto (“Big Mama”). One of the producers of “3:AM,” JeMarcus Bridges, accepted the award on Rapsody and Badu’s behalf.
Rapsody nabbed her first Grammy nominations since 2018 this year, picking up an additional nod for Best Rap Song, too. It is Badu’s fifth gramophone, the last one being for her song “Love of My Life (An Ode to Hip Hop),” which appeared on the 2002 Brown Sugar movie soundtrack and went on to win Best R&B Song.
