Rapper Obie Trice in Tax Trououble

*Rapper Obie Trice, formerly signed to Eminem’s Shady Records, has run afoul of the tax man to the tune of $298,051, according to published reports.

The IRS filed a lien in that amount against the artist on June 21 in Detroit’s Wayne County Register of Deeds.

His father, who is also named Obie Trice, insists he knew nothing of his son’s financial woes – but knows for certain the debts aren’t his.

“I know that’s not me. I’ve never made that kind of money to get that kind of tax debt,” Trice, Sr. tells the Detroit News.

The artist, best known for his 2003 single “Got Some Teeth,” signed to Eminem’s Shady Records in 2000 but split from the label in 2008.
