It’s the most wonderful time of the year, because the NBA free agency period is about to begin. While the salary cap jump for the 2017-18 isn’t as big as once projected, it’s still high at $99 million. It was once thought it would hit $101 million, an eight percent increase over 2016-17. Instead, it is only projected to jump by five percent, slowing down the rise in massive player contracts we’ve seen over the past year.
No matter what the salary cap is, players like Gordon Hayward, Blake Griffin, and Kyle Lowry will make for an exciting summer as they all head into free agency. The moves made at the top will surely have an affect on the rest of the NBA as teams try and catch up to the Golden State Warriors. Players are creating their own superteams as quick as they can, as evidenced by the Rockets grabbing Chris Paul in a trade no one thought was possible. If this can happen in trades, it will most certainly happen in free agency too.
Here are the contracts that every free agent has agreed to sign this summer.
