Lil Wayne Car Accident Rumor Surfaces Online via Facebook

August 08, 2011 02:30 AM EDT

A Lil Wayne car accident hoax has been the latest celebrity death news to hit the internet. Currently, there are no stories backing up that there was any sort of car crash involving the rapper also known as "Weezy."

So is Lil Wayne injured or worse from a car accident? There have been quite a few Yahoo! Answers posts set up within the past several hours questioning if in fact Lil Wayne was in a car accident. One user who responded to the question has noted:

"My guess is no. Theres a link on FBook going around which is likely spam. There isn't one article that you can find via google, etc, which says anything of the sort....and we all know how fast stuff like that spreads, there would be some type of headline for sure."

Another member adds in: "Lil Wayne and Rick Ross just ended a concert in North Carolina so I find this hard to believe I have family that was there."

Website Stupidcelebrities.net reports that the Lil Wayne car crash story is in fact false, and talks about Wayne's ongoing lawsuit over his song "Bedrock." While there isn't a lot of other news about Lil Wayne on the internet as of August 8th, the most recent stories involve Lil Wayne previewing a collaboration track he's recorded with Drake for his upcoming album "Tha Carter IV." That song is called "She Will" and will appear on the album slated for an August 29th release to the masses.

So as of right now, don't believe the Lil Wayne car accident rumors going around on Facebook or elsewhere. If there's a link involved it's probably best not to click on it as some individuals on Yahoo! Answers have noted it could be a virus!
