Kanye Sued over ‘Stronger’ Track
*A songwriter-producer who claims to have written Kanye West’s 2007 hit “Stronger” is now suing the rapper for compensation.
In the lawsuit filed Friday (June 25th) in United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Vincent “Vince P.” Peters says he wrote the track in 2006 and played it for West’s manager John Monopoly at his Chicago home on Nov. 12 of the same year.
Peters says he recorded his own version of “Stronger” about seven months after he gave a copy of the track to Monopoly. In the suit, Peters accuses West of copying significant portions of his original version.
Kanye’s track went on to become a Grammy-winning, No. 1 hit.
Peters is seeking an undisclosed amount of damages and a trial by jury, reports Allhiphop.com.
