*Rapper Ice Cube returned to his alma mater in Los Angeles this week and surprised school staff by handing over a check for $5,000.
The rapper popped up at his old stomping grounds at Taft High School in Woodland Hills, Calif. to donate the cash for a music education program supported by officials from the Grammy Foundation, reports AllHipHop.com.
Ice Cube began honing his rap skills at the age of 16, while learning how to play the keyboard in class at Taft High School in the 1980s.
