Pete Davidson channeled Eminem to get into the holiday spirit.
During Saturday Night Live, Davidson performed a Christmas-themed parody of Eminem's 2000 single "Stan" with help from the rapper himself.
In his music video parody, Davidson, donning a white tank top and bleached blond hair like Devon Sawa did in the original video, stars as "Stu," an obsessive Santa Clause fan. Throughout the video, Davidson's Stu writes and sends a myriad of letters to Santa (played by host Jason Bateman) begging him to gift him a PlayStation 5 for Christmas.
"I tried to buy one at a Wal-Mart/ ran around the shopping mall like Paul Blart/ tried to fine one for sale but the thing is that they're all out/ Yo, I even went to a game stop/ and then I was like, 'Oh wait, stop, Santa Claus can make one/ the man got his own workshop,'" Davidson raps.
When he fails to receive any responses from Santa — the video also shows Bateman's Santa and the elves concerned over the letters — Davidson's Stu grows angrier, with even his mom (played by Kate McKinnon) chiming in the song as to why Stu hasn't been able to purchase the video game console. Eminem’s "Stan" featured Dido singing the chorus.
"But he can't buy it himself because he lost his job because he was stealing from his boss. I'd be worried, he's a scary guy," McKinnon sings.
Later on, Bowen Yang appeared as Elton John to join the song. Eminem and Sir Elton John performed "Stan" together at the 43rd Annual Grammy Awards.
Eminem makes a surprise appearance at the end of the video by being shown on the TV screen in Stu's basement. The rapper opens a Christmas present marked as, "To Shady, from Santa." He then opens the gift to find the PS5 Stu kept asking for.
"That's crazy. A PS5? I didn't even ask for this!" Eminem says after opening the present. "I guess Shady must have been a good boy this year. Sorry, Stu. You fucked up
