*In a new mini-documentary, former Goodie Mob member Cee Lo Green shares a little about his life and the inspiration he draws from his past. In a sentimental way, the artist touched on how his mother has truly been the foundation of his success.
“My entire career is my mother’s work for me.”
Green’s mother was a volunteer firefighter in his youth. She was involved in a car crash that left her paralyzed. She passed away two years later, causing Green to fall into depression.
He also shared his views on the direction music is going and has gone lately, calling it “boring.”
“We must set a higher standard for our art,” he says, adding a comment about his cross-genre success. “I wasn’t born a poet to be passive.”
The mini-documentary is an Absolut Vodka production.
