Blackbride.com’s Bridal Showcase Sizzles in Hotlanta

Bridal showcase set a new standard for brides-to-be and their wedding preparations

*Brides, mothers and a few curious potential grooms rushed to Atlanta’s own Atlanta Marriott Marquis Hotel, for the groundbreaking first annual Bridal Showcase sponsored by BlackBride.com.

Unlike “mainstream” bridal events, this recent showcase focused on the untapped market of brides of color and their specific needs. A vendor who didn’t want to be named due to his diverse clientele, says it was the “BEST” bridal show he’d been to in fifty years.

Attendees were able to do one stop shopping at the showcase which included booths on honeymoon packages, wedding locations, jewelry, premarital financial counseling and of course, wedding dresses. There were exciting giveaways throughout the day, including a grand prize honeymoon getaway to St. Thomas Virgin Islands.

Star power was evident with Atlanta’s own DJ Blak Magic providing non-stop, crowd pleasing music that kept the mood exciting. Recording artist Tony Terry hit the stage with a special performance, singing his chart topping wedding song, “When I’m With You”. Bridal gown retailer, Alfred Angelo, turned up the heat on the runway with an electic bridesmaid collection of rich gowns in beautiful colors and off the shoulder dresses that were fun and sexy. The runway was then torched with screams and applause when featured Atlanta gown designer, Therez Fleetwood, presented her non-traditional, hand-sewn creations including several gowns with an “African flavor.”
