straight outta compton (oscars)
*Here we go again, unfortunately.

The 2016 Oscars nominations were announced this morning and it looks like the only thing diverse about the show when it airs in February will be the host, Chris Rock.

As Deadline pointed out, black folks got straight up shut out. Would you believe no Will Smith for “Concussion.” No Ryan Coogler for “Creed.” No Michael B. Jordan for “Creed.” No F. Gary Gray for “Straight Outta Compton.” No Samuel L. Jackson for “The Hateful Eight. ” Even Idris Elba in “Beasts of No Nation” was shunned

We agree with Deadline’s sentiment: “this isn’t just about diversity, it’s about talent and you missed out on giving a thumbs up to both today. Looks sadly like #OscarsSoWhite again.”

Now, as far as “Straight Outta Compton,” if it wasn’t for getting a Best Original Screenplay nomination, written by a white guy and a white woman, the film would’ve gotten goose eggs. That means the collective effort and vision of Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and director F. Gary Gray was pretty much almost left straight outta the Oscars.

So WHO and WHAT did get nominated?
