BET Chooses Prince for ‘Lifetime’ Honor
*The BET Awards has announced it will give its annual lifetime achievement award to His Royal Badness.
Prince, 51, will be honored in a special tribute during the June 27th ceremony in Los Angeles.
“Prince is dynamic. Prince is genius. Prince is music,” said BET’s president of programming, Stephen G. Hill.
The artist, who has 10 platinum albums and 30 Top 40 singles to his name, will join an esteemed group of BET lifetime achievement award recipients that includes James Brown, Whitney Houston, Diana Ross and Al Green.
The evening will be hosted by Queen Latifah and include performances by Kanye West
