Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Adrian Younge announce The Midnight Hour, share CeeLo Green-featuring “Questions”: Stream

Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest (who are no more) and psychedelic soulmusician Adrian Younge have been working on a collaborative album for a few years, since before they released the Luke Cage soundtrack together. The album is called The Midnight Hour and it comes out on June 1 via Younge’s Linear Labs label, and Pitchfork points out that a new song from it is out today.

The new song, “Questions,” features Cee-Lo Green, and it actually surfaced in a different form with vocals from Kendrick Lamar as “untitled 06 l 06.30.2014.” on Kendrick’s untitled unmastered album. You can hear the finished version (without Kendrick Lamar) below.

Other guests include Digable Planets’ Ladybug Mecca, Stereolab’s Lætitia Sadier, Questlove, Bilal, Raphael Saadiq, Marsha Ambrosius, Luther Vandross, and more. Check out the full tracklist and hear the previously-released “Feel Alive” below.
