Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's Divorce Settlement Is Eyebrow-Raisin...

Divorce is never a pretty thing for a husband and wife, but for a famous pair like Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, even the children can end up in the line of fire.

Although the couple filed for divorce two years ago, they only recently settled on an agreement in September.

Now, a few head-turners from the settlement are surfacing—one of which is a rule that applies to their two children, twins Moroccan and Monroe.

It states that neither Mariah nor Nick are allowed to let the kids address any significant other—such as a step-parent, girlfriend, or boyfriend—by any form of “mom” or “dad.”

In a world of “modern” families, step parents and additional parental figures are incredibly common.

But apparently Mariah and Cannon are not ready to board that “whatever's best for the kids” train.

The settlement also includes some financial red flags, like the fact that Cannon is required to deposit $5,000 a month to a trust for his children, while Carey is not.

Meanwhile, Carey's 2014 declared income was $6.3 million and Cannon's came in second at $2.5 million.

The two share custody over the kids, but they primarily reside with Carey.

When Cannon visits, he must pay for his own transportation and lodging.

However, in what seems to be a “fair trade,” Carey has signed over a 2012 Ferrari to Cannon.

This follows the very public break-up of Carey and ex-fiancé James Packer, when Carey requested to keep her $10 million engagement ring as well as a $50 million “reimbursement” for relocating her children to L.A.

Understandably, Carey has been at the brunt of a lot of speculation that she's using her children as financial leverage.

But so far, there's been no word that the ban against their children addressing any other adult by a parental nickname refers to the kids' relationship with Carey's ex.
