Prince to Visit White House for Copyright Protection Talks?

*It’s no secret that Prince has consistently been a critic of digital music and refuses to allow his back catalog to be sold digitally online by retail outlets such as Amazon and Apple’s iTunes store.

“I personally can’t stand digital music. You’re getting sound in bits,” he tells the Guardian newspaper. “It affects a different place in your brain. When you play it back, you can’t feel anything. We’re analog people, not digital.”

He’s also taken measures to prevent his music or images being used online, and is always battling to remove his videos on YouTube.

Well, the 53-year-old musician is apparently ready to take his issues all the way to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. and do something about it.

“I’m supposed to go to the White House to talk about copyright protection. It’s like the gold rush out there. Or a carjacking. There’s no boundaries,” he said.

The performer also addressed the persistent rumors that he is to headline Glastonbury each year, claiming: “They use my name to sell the festival. It’s illegal. I’ve never spoken to anyone about doing that concert, ever.”

Prince will, however, headline this year’s Hop Farm Music Festival in Kent on July 3. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
