Ne-Yo to Make a Killing on CSI: NY

*Ne-Yo is to set to make a guest appearance on the CBS crime drama “CSI: NY.”

People.com is reporting that the singer, real name Shaffer Chimere Smith, will play a suave assassin in an installment expected to air during February sweeps.

A rep for the series said: “Ne-Yo will be playing a professional hitman who doesn’t fit the usual image of a hired killer. This guy carries himself with elegant style but a violent efficiency.

The star’s previous acting roles include appearances in 2007 film “Stomp the Yard” and an upcoming part in World War II drama “Red Tails.”

He also recently released his fourth studio album “Libra Scale’ and will embark on a UK arena tour in early 2011.

“CSI: NY” airs Fridays at 9/8c on CBS.
