Marvo Fivestarsz - "Without" (Chinwe)

Since my last single No Colours, I have been at a hard writing block complete a solo single. Yes, I have been very active and doing shows but I just wasn't feeling inspired to cross the finish line.

Unfortunately, 2 days after seeing my mum on Mothers day, she was rushed to hospital after reporting it very hard to breathe. the last conversation I had was her telling me that they were going to sedate her to give her body maximum oxygen. That is how my mum spent most of 17 days.

We called everyday to check and were told she is 'stable'. Which being grateful, seemed like good news. Day 16, we got what seemed like even better news when we were told she is making progress on less oxygen.
Day 17.... We were told her heart stopped momentarily and she was resuscitated and put back on 100% oxygen.

A call at 5 o clock that day had a doctor telling me that they want to turn of the ventilator and 'let my mum die'. We had to beg for more time. My little sister asked the doctor for 24 hours. I begged to see her. I work for firm contracted under the NHS, so yes I am a Keyworker and do have all necessary PPE to enter a 'Covid19' environment but I was denied. So much chaos was brought to my family on this Thursday. We started exploring avenues as we felt like my mum was being robbed from us. We called around for private care and was unable to do anything because of the time of day.

We collected more numbers and said we would try first thing in the morning. Loads of the family were up in prayer meetings through the night but the call received before 6am froze everybody.

So many questions arose. So they turned it off? What happened to 24 hours? is this even real? Words can't explain and till this day I can tell you that because of the pandemic, Im still not even allowed to see her face.

As a result, I locked myself in my room for 2 days and finished 3 songs. The first I present to you is the 2nd song I finished Titled 'Without (Chinwe)'. Chinwe is my mums second name being Igbo meaning 'God Has'. So we are with mum but 'God Has her'.

My love goes out to people who have lost loved ones especially during this time. This pandemic doesn't even allow us to give a great women with so much dreams ahead of her a good send off.
