*Civil rights leaders call for the firing of John and Ken, radio personalitys on Los Angeles radio station KFI, which is owned by Clear channel Communications.
The shock jock duo were suspended by the station for calling Whitney Houston a “crack ho.” The pair also mocked Houston’s death by implying that she should have been dead long ago.
“John and Ken have a long history of slurs, attacks and mockery of minorities. A two day suspension for their continuing racially tinged comments over the airwaves is inexcusable. KFI management should fire both of them. or impose an indefinite suspension on the pair, require them to undergo sensitivity training, and issue a public pledge to end racial, ethnic and gender attacks.“Given the long history of John and Ken’s racist, ethnic and gender attacks, their two day suspension is nothing but a slap on the wrist. KFI clear channel station also is known as a station that lack diversity there are no African Americans talk show hosts at this station. Our coalition of civil rights activists are calling for more diversity at KFI.We want African Americans to be hired at KFI,” stated Najee Ali, Director of Project Islamic HOPE.
